Mohs Micrographic Surgery

 

Mohs surgery is an in-office procedure where the surgeon removes skin with cancer and evaluates the samples removed right at the time of surgery. If the immediate analyses indicates cancer may be at the margins of the skin removed, the surgeon removes another layer for further examination. When all margins are "cleared" of cancer, the wound is repaired. The end result intends for minimum skin removal while still removing all cancer.
